Staffordshire Conference, 15-18 May 2018

Caring for the Church of God

The seventh conference of the EuCRC took place on 15-18th May 2018 in Yarnfield Park Training and Conference Centre, Yarnfield, Stone, Staffordshire, ST15 0NL, United Kingdom.

The conference focus was the theme of ‘Caring for the Church of God’.  In a world characterised by much suffering and indifference, the Church of Jesus Christ is to show to the world the caring heart of a gracious and loving Saviour as its members live together under the loving authority of their Lord.  We considered the care of pastors and of members, together with the place of church discipline and the ministry of deacons.  Through prayerful listening to God and each other we were able to strengthen our unity and fellowship in Christ to the glory of God.

Four speakers presented papers on aspects of this theme. Dr José de Segovia (IRE) addressed ‘Caring for God’s Flock’. Rev Andrew Lucas (EPCI) spoke on ‘Caring for the Pastors’. Rev William Macleod (FCSC) covered ‘Pastoral Care and Church Discipline’, and Rev Gé Drayer (CGK) dealt with ‘The Office of Deacon’.
